For 40 years, PENTA has been helping clients transform ideas into successful industrial facilities around the world. Since our founding in 1986 by five engineers with a vision to provide specialized engineering expertise, we have grown into a multidisciplinary organization serving the cement, mining, minerals, lime, and bulk materials industries. From early-stage studies and feasibility assessments to full EPCM project execution, our commitment to technical excellence, innovation, and long-term client partnerships has remained unchanged. As we celebrate this milestone, we reflect on four decades of growth, collaboration, and engineering achievements while looking forward to helping our clients solve the challenges and seize the opportunities of the next 40 years.

1986
PENTA Engineering Corporation Founded
PENTA Engineering Corporation is founded in St. Louis, Missouri by five industry professionals:
- John McFadyen (Environmental)
- Richard Thompson (Electrical)
- Russell McMann (Chemical)
- Subhash Mohan (Structural)
- Francisco Benavides (Mechanical)
Together, they establish a company focused on technical excellence, innovation, and long-term client relationships.
1993
1993–1998 Expanding into South America
PENTA establishes a growing presence in South America through a series of strategic studies and engineering projects.
1995
First Middle East Cement Line
PENTA secures its first major Middle East project with Raysut Cement in the Sultanate of Oman.
1996
1996–1999 | Trinidad Cement Partnership Begins
PENTA performs feasibility studies, preliminary engineering, and detailed engineering for Trinidad Cement in Claxton Bay, Trinidad.
2000
2000–2001 | Strengthening U.S. Manufacturing
PENTA supports major modernization and expansion projects for leading cement producers in the United States including the EPCM Dragon Cement Plant Upgrade in Thomaston, Maine.
2008
2008–2014 | Landmark Kuwait Cement Project
PENTA serves as Owner’s Engineer on one of the largest and most significant projects in company history.
2015
PENTA India Cement & Minerals Private Ltd.
PENTA India Cement & Minerals Private Ltd. PENTA moves its India operations to Mumbai and establishes PENTA India Cement & Minerals Private Ltd.
2021
Tucson Office Opens
Tucson office opens and completes supplementary cementitious materials project during covid, an EPCM ash classification system.
2024
Atlanta Office Opens
PENTA expands its U.S. footprint with the opening of its Atlanta office.
2025
New Headquarters
PENTA relocates to a new office designed to support future growth, collaboration, and innovation.
2026
